When you’re prepping for vacation, what’s your routine?
Are you the type that organizes everything from packing lists, to do lists, and sorted chores on a spreadsheet (or several?!)?
Do you rage clean and leave your house spotless before boarding your flight?
Or are you scrambling to throw the essentials in a suitcase and looking for your boarding pass when they announce the final boarding call?
D. All of the above!
Loads of laundry
The week before a trip I swear I do at least two loads of laundry a day. I try to wash and set aside the clothes that are on the list to be packed (I plan my packing list on a spreadsheet…guilty!). It’s a constant cycle of laundry and the loads get smaller and smaller, but I hate leaving dirty clothes in the hamper while we’re away. It’s weird, I know!
Tidying up a bit
I can’t say I leave the house spotless, however, I definitely like to leave a clean home to return to post vacation. Vacuuming and tidying are must do chores before we leave. A clean kitchen, empty dishwasher, empty trash and recycling are essential before we depart. I also take this time to purge the fridge.
It doesn’t matter how well I plan, I always feel anxious until we arrive at our destination. Invariably I have forgotten an item or some essential task, but once I’m there, I don’t mind.
