This post highlights local businesses from Ocean Isle Beach, NC I follow on social media.

We spend as much time as possible at our second home in Ocean Isle Beach [read more of our Beach Bum adventures!].

Typically once we get there we rarely leave the island, except to shop at the grocery store and the hardware store. There are great local restaurants and businesses we love to patronize while we’re there. Here are a few I follow on Instagram:

OIBMickey

OIB Mickey is a local photographer. He posts great aerial photographs and drone footage of the island and surrounding beaches. I love seeing my social media filled with the stunning sunsets at OIB, especially when we can’t be there to enjoy them in person. If you’re dreaming of island life, check out OIBMickey’s photographs.

Pelican’s Perch

The Perch is a bar and restaurant on the island that is open year round. We make a point to stop there each trip. I love their onion rings! It’s just over half a mile from our house, so when it’s warm we love to hop on our bikes and pedal to the Perch for lunch. It overlooks the Town Center Park, so it’s an optimal spot to sit and listen to live music on Friday nights during peak season.

Surf Unlimited

Surf Unlimited is a super cute surf shop, boutique clothing retailer on the island just as you come over the bridge. They stock beachwear essentials, but also offer cute jewelry, a baby and children’s boutique section, and island chic clothing and accessories. You can call or text the shop to have items shipped if you are sadly not on the island!

59 Causeway

59 Causeway is a great café just as you cross the bridge onto the island. It’s located on the waterway between Sheffield’s gas station and OIFC. With seasonal beverages, it’s the perfect coffee shop and bar for breakfast and late lunch. 59 Causeway has colorful Adirondack chairs for you to enjoy your beverage and great coastal views as you watch the boats float in.

We love the slower pace of the island lifestyle, so if we’re not out and about at these local favorites, you’ll find us on the beach playing catch or riding bikes to play at the park.
